See below for some examples of before/after editing.
• Culling. After your photoshoot, I will go through and narrow down the images, getting rid of duplicates, ones that are out of focus, weirdly lighted, too much hair across your face, unflattering, etc.
• Proof gallery posted. Within 3 business days I send you a gallery of these unedited images to choose from. The proofs won't be pretty. I shoot in what is called a "flat RAW file format" and so the images will look dull or have weird color, etc. Ignore that! I also intentionally keep my proofs dark to prepare them for the editing process I apply to them later. Also some pictures taken at sunset may not show much of the golden sunshine because I have not yet extracted that data from the file. So please don't judge the images by the way they look at this stage. You can see some before/after examples below to show how pretty they look after editing.
I will edit out people, trash, logos, etc., as part of the editing process, in almost all cases.
You can click on each image to see it bigger, and there's also a magnifying glass once you click on it that you can use to see your face better if the watermark covers it (I can't change the watermark placement or size on my proofing system).
• You get to choose your favorites to keep! You will go through your proof gallery, and choose your favorite 80. I finalize your choices, and they are the ones that you get to print, share, and keep. The images that you do not choose are deleted.
If you would like more images, they are $20/image. You must order those at the same time you send me your favorites. Please note that images I have already edited for social media previews are NOT automatically part of the ones you get in your package. If you want those, you should include them in your favorites.
TEXT ME: I will edit once I get a text from a parent that the final choices have been selected.
• Editing and final gallery delivery. How long it takes depends on several factors. The biggest factor is how many galleries I have in front of yours to edit. The best way to make sure you get your finished portraits quickly is to make your choices quickly. The longer you wait, the more likely other seniors will get in front of you in my editing queue. Most likely it will be 7-15 days to get your final images, unless everyone turns in their favorites at the same time.
• If you don't choose, I will. Again, if you do not choose your favorites within six weeks, I will do it for you. I greatly dislike reminding people repeatedly about something, and I am sure you won't make me do that. :)
